New Caney is located approximatey 30 miles north-east of downtown Houston, commonly accessed from Highway 59 north. New Caney is situated between the Humble Kingwood area and Cleveland, Texas, and is often referred to as East Montgomery County. New Caney is home to several youth sports leagues for football, baseball, softball and basketball under the EMC (East Montgomery County Sports Association).
