New Caney Texas - The Town

New Caney is located approximatey 30 miles north-east of downtown Houston, commonly accessed from Highway 59 north.  New Caney is situated between the Humble Kingwood area and Cleveland, Texas, and is often referred to as East Montgomery County.  New Caney is home to several youth sports leagues for football, baseball, softball and basketball under the EMC (East Montgomery County Sports Association).  New Caney is also home to Ed Rinehart Park at Valley Ranch, a community sports complex with four softball fields, four baseball fields, two T-ball fields and a playground.  New Caney is rich in farm land, ranches and new developments of suburban neighborhoods throughout the East Montgomery County areas.

New Caney 10 minutes from Lake Houston


Lake Houston is approximately 10 minutes from New Caney, situated between Kingwood, Huffman and Atascocita - Humble communities.  Lake Houston is great for New Caney guests with interest in boating, fishing, camping or hiking.


New Caney 45 Minutes from Lake Conroe


New Caney is approximately 45 minutes from Lake Conroe, which is just north of The Woodlands.  This lake is approximately 21,000 acres of crystal clear water, averaging 20.5 feet deep, and up to 75,000 feet deep in certain areas of the lake.  New Caney residents and visitors can experience Lake Conroe with a variety of water recreation rentals and activities.

New Caney guests who are interested in a more deep Texas southern water adventure can access Lake Livingston, which is just over an hour drive north of New Caney.  Lake Livingston covers approximately 83,000 acres at an average depth of 23 feet; the lake is up to 90 feet deep in specific areas.  Along side of Lake Livingston, New Caney guests can find marinas, camping and other recreational services and activities.
